2001/2002
Session
• 1st Prize in the Senior Choral Competition held at the MUSON
Centre, Lagos.
2004/2005 Session
• Sunday Abolarin (SS3) and Oluyinka
Ige (SS3) participated in the 2004 National JETS Mathematics
and Science Competition. Sunday was placed 1st and Oluyinka
5th. Sunday went on to represent Kwara State and his brilliant performance
(1st Place) in the 2005 Kwara State JETS Quiz and Projects Competition
qualified him to represent the State in the National Competition
in Akure, Ondo State
• Boluwatife
Ade Dosumu (SS3) and Sunday Abolarin (SS3) were
winners for Kwara State of the 2004/2005 NAFDAC Consumer Safety
Club Secondary Schools Essay Competition. They went to Abuja
for the Award Ceremony.
• Uanhoro James
(JSS3) came 1st in the Cowbell Mathematics’s
Competition held at State level. He went on to represent the
College at National level in Abuja where he was placed
5th out of the 36 States with 94%. Winning a total of N20,000.00
• Temitayo
Ajiboye (JSS3) was placed 5th in the Peak Mother of
the Year Essay Competition winning a Bursary of N10,000.00
• The National Association
of Nigerian Students (NANS) has named Thomas Adewumi International
College to “be amongst the seven most elite schools in
the country” in the PUNCH Newspaper of Friday, 4th February
2005.
2005/2006
Session
• Last session’s
JSS3 pupils gained an overall 98.75% pass
rate in their JSS3 National Examinations, without any examination
malpractice!
• Last session’s
SS3 pupils gained an overall 97.4% pass
rate with 88.6% pass at Grades A - C in the WAEC Examinations,
again without examination malpractice.
• Last session’s
SS3 pupils gained an overall 97.4% pass rate
with 87.8% pass at Grades A-C in the NECO Examinations,
without examination malpractice!
• Julius ADEBAYO
(SS3) flew to Jakarta, Indonesia to represent
the College and Kwara State in the World Finals of the Science
Olympiad. He won Bronze Medal and gained the best marks out
of the whole of Africa.
• JuliusAdebayo(SS3)
won the Zonal Finals of the NNPC National Quiz in Nassarawa
State, competing against Benue, Niger, Nassarawa, Kogi, Plateau
States and FCT Abuja.
• Julius Adebayo
came second overall in the NNPC Science Quiz Final held
at Abuja.
• Ugochukwu
EZIKE (SS3) won 3rd Prize (and N10,000.00) out of 56 entries
in the 7th Professor J P Clark Essay Competition, organized
by the Solidra Circle, Lagos, for his essay ‘CORRUPTION
IN NIGERIA – THE WAY OUT’.
• Ilaya ONIKO
(Class of 2004) gained a Scholarship to study Electrical
Engineering at the Eastern Mediterranean University, USA. Ilaya
gained the highest score (1330/1800) in English, Mathematics and
Quantitative Analysis
• Victoria
AKANYA (Class of 2005) who has been accepted on a Foundation
Course to read Medicine at Abbey College, Cambridge, UK
• Tolulope
Babade has been nominated to be part of the Nigerian Contingent
in the IEARN International Conference and Youth Summit in the
Netherlands in July 2006.
• Julius Adebayo
won Gold Medal at the State Final of the Physics/Biology
Olympiad
• Julius Adebayo
won the Silver Medal at the National Finals of the
Physics/Biology Olympiad held at Abuja.
• Adefere Toyosi
and Ajibola Opeyemi won the Bronze Medal at the National
Finals of the Biology Olympiad held at Abuja.
• Medals for Outstanding
Performance at the Citizenship & Leadership Training
Centre, Lagos by SS 2 Pupils.
• Oyeyipo Yetunde
and Afolayan Adedamola came 2nd in the French Competition
and Quiz held at Ilorin during Francophonie Day 2006.
• Gold Medal in Songs
and Poems rendition by Babatunde Oluwatobi, Martins Adeola,
Okunola Wura, Malade Folashade, Fawole Tolulope and Malomo Eyitayo
during the Francophonie Day 2006 at Ilorin.
